Fantastic location, cottage really quaint.

We loved our stay. The view was gorgeous, cosy little cottage with a comfortable bed and the fireplace was amazing for the cold nights. We especially loved hearing the rain on the tin roof all night. PS if you’re with Telstra you’ll have reception no worries, due to the new tower in the town.

Excellent stay with a look at how life was in another era.the serenity and the step back in time atmosphere. The cottage was all you need to escape from a busy life style. Stringer’s Cottage gave you an experience of a life long ago lived where all you needed was the necessaries to be comfortable in life.

Had a great weekend in Walhalla staying at cosy Stringer cottage. The cottage had everything we needed.  Great CD selection, plenty of wood and easy walking distance into town. The weather was beautiful, as was the Autumn colours. Had a great walk up to the cricket ground and with the bush recovering from the bush fires, the re-growth was picturesque against the black trunks. As we walked back down the track, we were lucky enough the have the sounds of Bagpipes drifting through the Valley. 🙂
Our small state of Victoria might be small, but it has so much to offer.
Thank you Anna, hope to return to Walhalla very soon.

The cabin was gorgeous! We had a very pleasant stay and loved the beautiful decor, environmental consciousness, comfort and location of Stringer’s Cottage. Thank you so much!

Stringer’s Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, or just for some peace and quiet in the vast surrounding forested areas. It’s also eco friendly, using solar power for the lights, and 12 volt inverter so you can at least charge a couple of small devices. The bed is extremely comfortable, so even without closing the blinds, I slept really well. There is plenty of hot water, which is impressive in such a remote location. The cottage is very homely, with a well equipped kitchen, a vast selection of books, and even some board games. I read one whole book during my three day stay, despite mainly being in the area for the Dubious family reunion, as our mutual great grandparents and their 9 children all used to live in Walhalla at the turn of the 19th and start of the 20th century. As soon as I left the red and blue parrots and a large black and white bird returned to their residence in the little garden. So the cottage goes back to nature till the next guest arrives the following day.

A gorgeous little cabin in a secluded town – great for a disconnected getaway (no reception or wifi anywhere). It was cozy and warm in the cabin with the fire going on an unseasonally cold night and we curled up comfortably with our food, drinks and some music provided by the CD player. This cabin is so close to everything, including walkable distance to the pub for a drink and a meal – we recommend the steak, lamb and/or wedges!

“This is a lovely and cosy little cottage nestled above the old train line. It was a nice walk into the old town of Walhalla, which is one of the cutest places you’ll ever visit.”
